Asking for help is your super power: I learnt recently that trees in a forest work together to protect each other. They communicate using scents and fungi to tell each other that 'hey, let's not flower yet', ' let's send nutrition to our elderly tree's roots ' ..By collaborating, protecting and meeting each others' needs, they survive and thrive as a species. Gaps in the forest are not good for any of them. We are no different. Only we don't have scents and fungi to communicate. We need to use our words. When I ask people to help with something that they are capable of offering, I feel a strong sense of human connection developing between us. Our human roots are connected. It was not always like that. I used to feel guilty when asking for help. Not anymore. It's much stronger to ask for help than to try to do it all by oneself or struggle. Men, in particular, are prone to not asking for help as they feel it's a sign of weakness. Quite the contrary, it's a sign of strength and an invitation for human connection. Look around you, who can help you live a more meaningful and purposeful life. Who can you help?
